A professional golfer named Daniel Bowling was arrested and charged with several crimes after he allegedly tried to meet up with someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl.
Bowling started chatting with someone on AdChat in early April and thought he was communicating with a 15-year-old girl, though it was really an officer posing as a decoy.
Detectives say that Bowling‘s conversations with the decoy “turned sexual in nature within the first 24 hours and intensified quickly.”

The Orlando Police Department describes Bowling as a “dangerous online predator” and they arrested him on Thursday (May 6) when he thought he was going to meet up with the “15-year-old girl.” When he arrived to meet up with the decoy, he was arrested “without incident” by detectives and Special Enforcement Division officers.
Bowling, 26, is facing several charges, including “obscene communication, travel to meet with a minor, and attempted lewd and lascivious molestation,” according to People.
“Unfortunately, there are potentially hundreds of predators like Mr. Bowling online,” Jennifer Wing of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force said in a statement. “I hope news of today’s arrest encourages parents to be more proactive in monitoring their children’s lives online.”
